Clothing:

Some cases require a detailed hands on assessment of the whole body (not just the area where you are experiencing pain), so you may be asked to undress to your comfort level.

If you are not happy with this, please wear or bring clothing that is easy to for your therapist to feel through e.g. thin tracksuit.

Consultation, case history and examination:

During an initial consultation, your therapist will record a comprehensive medical history of your presenting complaint as well as past medical issues, do a postural analysis, assess your muscle strength and weakness and will ask you about areas or muscles that require special attention. The examination involves visual and tactile assessment of one specific area or relevant muscle and joint.

Diagnoses & prognosis:

After your treatment, we discuss a self-care plan, routine maintenance and if the situation requires it, we may schedule a following-up session.

Post-treatment hints for self-care & well-being:
  • Drink plenty of water after treatments (it helps to flush the lactic acid out of tissues and reduces a soreness the next day)
  • Eat fruits & green vegetable
  • Avoid of heavy food right after your treatment and late evening/night eating (this prolongs digestion running time and delays actuating of body’s self-healing processes). Eat fruits, green vegetable or light food instead.
  • Avoid heavy work or exercise and permit yourself some rest in the evening after the treatment and if possible, allow yourself longer sleeping time.
  • It’s possible that you might feel some tiredness or soreness the day after a treatment (even if you do drink plenty of liquid – preferable water). This just means plenty of accumulated waste substances were flushed out of the tissues. It should pass within 24 to 48 hours.
